About Me

Hello There!

Summer Joy Tigney (AKA Summer Joy) is a film student currently attending California State University Northridge attaining a degree in Screenwriting with a minor in art. She recently published a narrative essay in the textbook "Waves: A Collection of Student Essays"-Fourth Edition during her time at CSUN and is looking to start her career in animation as she finishes up her studies.

While at CSUN, she has worked on several projects, from her surrealist short film “Anomaly” to directing a reimagining of David Holden’s “Young & Hungry.” As a screenwriting major she spends lots of time writing and loves to work on character-driven projects full of comedy, drama, and action! Summer puts her heart and soul into every project and especially LOVES the little moments characters share that make them our favorites. She’s at home exploring fantastical worlds filled with magic and wonder to epic battles across the galaxy! But like many she finds fulfillment traversing the oddities of mundane life and the excitement in a child’s day of play.

As a Black LGBTQ+ woman she jumps at the opportunity to elevate the voices of her peers and finds joy and necessity in creating inclusive content and safe spaces for all to express their shared experiences.

Additionally, Summer has spent the last few years studying art alongside writing and is looking for opportunities to expand her knowledge of the animation pipeline, and challenge her abilities as an artist and writer and grow her skillset as a storyteller.

She’s currently based in Las Vegas and is available for work (hybrid, remote, relocation). If you’re interested in working with her she’d love to hear from you! 😁
